The Rubberbus
The Danish Inflatable Bus (1A) is out there sailing our roads. Working together with Gorm X Envision I provided a 3D inflatable image for the bus which was then edited together into a finished look.

This was both a great challenge and a super fun project. As so often with 3D assignments, you have to create your own system to make it easy to do revisions.
Eventually I found the optimal solution: Instead of creating a finished structure of the bus to be inflated, I made the frame from a combination of shapes which was merged together. This made it super easy to do corrections, so easy that the client could sit by my side and see the changes.
I inflated the whole thing and kept the object in check with hidden collider objects. The colliders were important because the printing template had certain no-print areas. It's hard to fake in a simulation, so colliders had to be used to contain the sim and make the edges look nice.
